Brief
An existing client moved home and wanted assistance with various new window treatments and some alterations. The core of the house had been renovated and the furniture awaiting delivery. Curtains were to be relatively neutral with a little sparkle / glamour.
Inspiration and Design
Following various visits to look through fabric collections a decision was made for each room. Unfortunately with the curve to the ceiling and deep window sills we were unable to install the modern wave curtain to the bays as the tracks would sit too far into the room to allow the curtains clearance so we opted for pencil heading. In the lounge there was a difference in floor to ceiling height of around 10cm from left/right so the only way to manage this was to pool the curtains on the floor. Pencil heading, when dressed, can look neat and tidy and installed closer to sills as they don’t need the same flow as Wave. Pencil uses less fabric so is more economic to create to other header options. The voile used in the kitchen and ensuite were made up as faux curtains and roman blinds just to dress and soften the spaces.
